The story behind the Austria motif

For the Austria design, we consciously combined elements that unite architecture, Viennese coffee house culture, music, and nature into a delicate composition.

The historic city silhouette with church towers and classic rooftops is reminiscent of Austria’s tradition-rich cities and their unmistakable architecture – of alleyways, squares, and views that can feel like home.

In the foreground is a coffee cup as a tribute to the famous Viennese coffee house culture. In Austria, coffee houses are far more than places to have a coffee: they stand for encounters, conversations, time spent together, and a piece of the Austrian way of life.

Next to it, musical elements highlight Austria’s extraordinary musical tradition. The country is inextricably linked to classical music and great composers – above all Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, one of the most famous Austrian composers.

Floral elements frame the scene, lending the detailed engraving its soft, decorative aesthetic.

In this way, the motif tells of an Austria between culture, music, coffee house, and familiar cityscapes – not as a single landmark, but as a small feeling of home.
